30 Artisan Members
100 Community Beneficiaries
The Cojolya Association for Mayan Women was founded in 1983 during the hight of the Guatemalan Civil War. Cojolya is located in Santiago Atitlan, a Tz'utujil town on the southern shores of the lake which was greatly impacted by the violence of the time. Today, Cojolya is both a registered non-profit working to improve the lives of artisans and their families, and a certified Fair Trade organization dedicated to the conservation of the tradition but as an economically viable source of employment women weavers.
We are proud to partner with Cojolya and we are committed to investing 10% of our proceeds directly into their social programs, including artisan development grants and educational scholarships, benefitting not only our artisan partners but their families and the greater community.
